Vitamin C which is also known as Ascorbic Acid, is water soluble and can be found mostly in the fruit and vegetable like: Clementine, Lime, Grapefruit, Orange, Tangerine, Kumquat, Minneola, Tangelo, Lemon, Guava, Strawberries, Kiwi, Red/Green Peppers, Collard Greens, Tomatoes, Broccoli, Potatoes, Spinach and Parsley. Vitamin C is highest in fresh, uncooked foods. It is a major component of collagen which runs the immune system; therefore it is an important part of the detoxification system.

Vitamin C plays a vital role in detoxification because it uses antioxidants to detoxify toxins. Antioxidants work by supplying electrons to help cells neutralize free radicals that cause mutations and cellular damage. Vitamin C refuels the body system with extra electrons when our body exhibits low levels of electrons. It may also help to decrease the side effects of detoxification, like nausea and headache.

To eliminate these free radicals, Vitamin C can be taken in high doses up to the Bowel Tolerance Level (BTL). This BTL is different for each individual. The common BTL range is between 4 grams (4,000mg) to 10 grams (10,000mg) daily until you have a loose stool several days in a row. People should remain slightly below his/her BTL dosage daily.
